Norm Trainor is the President and CEO of The Covenant Group, referred by many as “The Business Builder.” He formed The Covenant Group (TCG) in 1995, where his team has amassed and diagnosed research on top performing professionals, distilling that research into The 8 Best Practices & Business Builder concepts. TCG educates and coaches entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary business tools to enhance their performance and achieve new levels of profit and productivity. TCG works with some of the world’s largest institutions and has client networks across North America, Europe and the Caribbean. TCG specializes in helping financial services organizations grow market share and increase productivity by improving the practice development capability of their owners, managers, advisors and agents.

Norm is an international speaker; the author of the best-selling books, The 8 Best Practices of High-Performing Salespeople & The Entrepreneurial Journey; and has written articles for various leading publications in North America and internationally.

Norm began his career in the life insurance business, qualifying for the National Quality Award (NQA) and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. His academic background includes a BA with Honours in Psychology from the University of Toronto, and postgraduate courses in Psychology and the Behavioural Sciences.

Yves Delvallet joined The Covenant Group in September of 2002. Prior to joining the team, he was Director of Training and Development at Spectrum Investments, the Canadian mutual fund arm of Sun Life Financial. During this period, Yves spent the majority of his time on the road mentoring and coaching wholesalers across Canada in the area of sales effectiveness and value added solutions for financial advisors. He also successfully implemented The 8 Best Practices of High-Performing Advisors™ Program and delivered multiple full-day workshops for Spectrum’s top clients.

Prior to 2000, Yves spent ten years with Dun & Bradstreet, where his last position was Director, Global and Major Accounts, Asia-Pacific, Canada and Latin America. His role was to manage a team of top producers in selling and servicing global business-to-business information solutions to the needs of D&B’s largest customers worldwide. During this time, he also performed consulting tasks in the area of practice management and sales development for three Fortune Top 500 companies based out of Asia.

Yves has spoken internationally and is fully bilingual in English and French. He is a graduate of the Universite du Quebec a Montreal with a degree in Business Administration and a specialty in Finance.

Executive coach since 1995, both with managers, professionals, and entrepreneurs, Robert Lecavalier defines his role as a guide and counselor who helps bring priorities on key objectives, which in the end will make the difference in building and sustaining performance.

Using a variety of management techniques as an executive coach, Robert helps our clients to realize new learning opportunities, to develop systems to measure performance, to help realign priorities and, most importantly, provide guidance and perspective throughout the process.

Robert has extensive management experience as the President and CEO in several companies in different sectors. The concepts and best practices he shares through the coaching process are inspired by his own knowledge of strategic management and talent development as he has experienced it throughout his career as an entrepreneur, executive and coach.

Jim Harrison has been a Senior Associate with The Covenant Group since 1996. He has an extensive background in financial services and over 25 years of experience in consulting, education, and executive coaching.

As a management consultant and senior level trainer, Jim has specialized in practice development for financial advisors, marketing strategies, sales and negotiation skills, sales coaching, and client service. He has consulted and done training programs for Highland Capital Brokerage, Lincoln Financial, Manulife, The Guardian, IBM, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte, Accenture, AGFA, and HSBC.

In recent years, Jim has focused his activities in two areas: helping senior sales executives build trusted advisor relationships with senior business executives, and counseling the highest-end financial advisors and insurance executives on how to build, grow and sustain successful business practices.

Jim also counsels senior executives approaching retirement on how to create a comprehensive plan for their “Act 3” transition into retirement. This planning includes an executive’s spouse and focuses on building a portfolio of activities to make a smooth transition into a vibrant and fulfilling retirement.

Jim received his B.S. in Finance from Florida State University and Masters Degree in English from the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Alden Cass, author of Bullish Thinking: The Advisor’s Guide to Surviving and Thriving on Wall Street and “The Bullish Thinking Guide for Managers,” specializes in working directly with senior executives, including high-profile CEO’s, traders, financial advisors, planners, athletes, musicians, and bankers, helping them to achieve their corporate, career, and personal goals. He is a performance coach and licensed clinical psychologist who is an expert on the use of psychology to assess, intervene, and eventually meet an individual’s personal and professional goals.

Alden has served as a contributor for thestreet.com, On Wall Street Magazine, Registered Rep Magazine, and Traderdaily.com where skills are offered to improve the traders’ and advisor’s performance edge throughout volatile markets. He has created the “Bullish Thinking Workshop,” “Subtle Sales” and “Channeled Rage workshops” for use in both the financial and legal realms. Professional, engaged and enthusiastic, Alain Lecavalier has nearly 20 years of experience as a human resources consultant and facilitator in management and leadership.

Hi passion for talent development led him to pursue a PhD in psychology. He meets organizational expectations by helping clients to develop leadership skills, improve motivation, better understand the main challenges they face, and implement proactive and dynamic action plans.

As an Associate of The Covenant Group, his interventions alternate between mandates for executive search (headhunting), recruitment processes (advice and/or evaluative role), business coaching, and developing training workshops on modern management.

Shauna Trainor is The Covenant Group’s Engagement Manager. She focuses on The Covenant Group’s strategy and program delivery. As a facilitator and coach, she helps entrepreneurs with meeting their objectives by educating them on how to develop and implement marketing, sales and service initiatives to leverage the social capital inside their business. Shauna enjoys helping clients with their digital strategy to build their business and brand, engaging prospects and clients in a variety of channels. She also focuses on the importance of resource management and helps clients with talent development to attract and retain the right people. Shauna’s passion for corporate social responsibility and community development shines through in The Covenant Group blog and in her own RedefiningTO  project.

Our Board

All successful companies are greatly influenced by the people and organizations that they hold company. The Covenant Group has undertaken to associate itself with strong business leaders who have created value in their own right and can assist us in getting better at what we do.

In living our own principles, we have a number of key people who influence how we move our business forward and we greatly respect the value they provide and the wisdom they impart.

Morris Klid, CEO

An entrepreneur, Morris has been active in the registration and name search industry for over 30 years providing service and innovation to his customers. In 1984 he founded the successful Finders Research Corporation, specializing in name searches, and in 1996 he founded Cyberbahn Inc. as part of his broader concept for a more connected service for his customers.

Within the community he has been active both as a Director of several condominium boards and as a Director of various community-based business associations. He was involved with the charity Children of Chernobyl and twice visited Ukraine to distribute aid as part of “Help us Help the Children’ campaign. Morris has an Economics BA from Wilfred Laurier University.

Vince Saroli, COO

With over twenty five years experience in the industry, Vince Saroli as Chief Operating Officer of the Cyberbahn Group of Companies has obligations to the organization by providing leadership and direction to ensure operational efficiency. As a member of the executive team, Vince also has responsibility for providing assistance to the CEO in the development of strategic partnerships to ensure that the organization meets both short and long term growth strategies and objectives.

As a board member to industry associations, Vince has been called on to provide both guidance and direction to ensure the continued development of the legal support process through open negotiation with various government agencies. He is an advisory committee board member to both Court and Tribunal as well as Law Clerk community college programs. As well, he has been called on to provide support to the Law Society of Upper Canada as an advisor by offering industry perspective in the development of the regulations for paralegal reform in Ontario.

Vince’s extensive industry knowledge provides Cyberbahn with the opportunity to explore the various aspects of the entire legal industry in order to create future systemic growth opportunities for the group of companies.

Dr. Tom Hill

After 26 years in public education and at 50 years of age, Dr. Tom Hill left the University of Missouri, where he was a professor and administrator, to pursue an entrepreneurial career in real estate franchise sales. In less than 10 years he built a company that in 1999, the real estate offices combined, did over $3 billion in sales. He sold his company in 1999 and now spends his time and energy giving back what he learned in becoming what he is today.

Tom is a husband, father, grandfather, airplane pilot, marathon runner, mountain climber, skydiver, writer and speaker.

One of Tom’s passions is to make a major and positive difference in as many lives as possible. He accomplishes this through his Vistage/TEC speaking, other professional speaking engagements and through consulting with companies and their executive teams.

He is the author of Living at the Summit, co-author of the companion workbook Life Plan and is co-author of Chicken Soup for the Entrepreneur's Soul. It is currently available in bookstores.
