George Hartman
George Hartman’s 30-year career in financial services spans both the insurance and investment industries as an advisor, manager, educator and senior executive.
As an educator, George has taught Economics, Business Administration and Marketing at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. As a business executive, George has held the positions of Vice President, Marketing for Toronto-based investment fund manager The Universal Group; Senior Vice President, Financial Concept Group and President, PlanVest Financial Corporation.
In 1991, George formed his own firm, Hartman & Company Inc. to provide consulting services to the financial services industry, focusing on portfolio design, financial planning, sales management, product development and marketing. In 1992, George published the Canadian industry’s first authoritative book on the subject of asset allocation – Risk is a Four Letter Word. The book immediately became a national best seller and was followed up with a second best seller in 2000, Risk is STILL a Four Letter Word.
George is a sought after speaker and trainer and has conducted workshops and seminars for more than 60,000 investors as well as numerous investment dealers, financial planning organizations and educational institutions.
He has appeared regularly on radio and television talk shows and as a frequent special columnist for the Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper. He served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the personal finance magazine for consumers IE: Money, and today writes a monthly column for the financial services industry trade journal Investment Executive.
George has an undergraduate and Masters Degree in Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University. He also holds the CLU designation.
As a consultant, coach and facilitator with The Covenant Group, George travels throughout the world fulfilling his passion of helping financial advisors and their organizations elevate their business to new levels by applying “best of breed” practice management strategies.
